Game- constructor "Fixie-compass" — A fun and educational game for kids.
Build a compass used by early travelers over 1000 years ago with this set and find out where north, south, west and east are.
Who will be interested?
The game will be interesting for children from 6 years old.
Why is this a child?
The set is an effective learning tool that helps the child develop cognitive activity, opportunities to explore the world around him and natural phenomena, creativity, design skills.
What in the set?
- special cardinal water container;
- dome cover;
- compass stand;
- magnetic needle.
In order to assemble the compass, required:
- 1. Set the compass stand on a flat surface, put a container with cardinal directions on it.
- 2. Pour water up to divisions. Attention! If there is little water, the arrow will not show directions correctly.
- 3. Install a magnetic needle (it should lie freely on the surface of the water). The red part of the arrow always points to the north.
- 4. Cover with a lid.
Done! The compass is assembled.
How does the compass work?
The magnetic needle on the water plays the role of a magnet float. Nothing hinders its movement, so one end of the arrow (red) always points to the north, and the other — to the south.
To determine the cardinal directions, the set uses a special container for water, along the edges of which there are symbols, we give their decoding:
N (north)— north;
E (east) — east;
S (south) — south;
W (west) — west;
NE (northeast) — northeast;
SE (southeast) — southeast;
SW (southwest) — southwest;
NW (northwest) — northwest.
About something important. Information for adults.
The educational game "Fixie Compass" was created based on the cartoon "Fixies" (compass series). In order to make it more interesting for the child to assemble the constructor, before assembly, tell the child how a regular compass works, and watch the cartoon together.
After the child has learned the basic concepts, you can start assembling and observing.
